DownRoyal Down Royal Racecourse has been hosting meetings to generations of people in Ulster since the 17th Century.The course is a right handed, one mile, seven furlong circuit with a four furlong straight and a five furlong chute. The All Weather Fibresand track is a left handed oval of 1 mile 2 furlongs. The long sweeping bends tests both horse and jockey. It has a straight run in of 3 furlongs. Southwell is the only all weather track to have a straight race.
